Eero Saarinen Tulip Table - Round Coffee 36 Inch

The Saarinen Tulip Table is recognized as one of the most famous pieces in the Saarinen Pedestal Series. Created in 1957, the Saarinen Table embodies the thought and theory behind one of the 20th century's great architects. Constructed of cast aluminum, the table flows from top to bottom and from side to side in a fluid exchange of lines. The tulip table shown here is a favorite as it can be used in a variety of spaces, but is most commonly used as a coffee table.

Perhaps Eero Saarinen’s best-known collection of furniture is the Pedestal Series.  In this drive to do away with the “slum of legs”, Saarinen designed a series of chairs, stools, and tables on a tulip base.  In the tulip table design, Saarinen used only cast aluminum and a bolt to secure a wood or stone top.  It was a pure form of design that remains extremely popular today.  

The Saarinen Table uses a lacquered cast aluminum base in white, black, or silver. The Saarinen Table base is treated with a clear protective finish to resist scratches, stains, and scuffs. 

Made in Italy.

Dimensions: Height 16 1/4"  Diameter 35 1/2" 

Weight: Laminate - 55 lbs.  Marble - 108 lbs.

Materials: Saarinen Tulip Table with white, black, or matte silver lacquered cast aluminum base and choice of laminate, marble, or porcelain top. White, black, and silver bases are available in both glossy and matte finishes.
